The Neighborhood Plant Market is Open — And We're Going Monthly! 🌱

About a year ago, I was walking through the parking lot and pulled out my phone with a wild idea: what if we started a plant nursery right here in this pavilion? Fast forward to today, and I am so pleased to tell you it's real. The whole pavilion is full of plants, and we are just getting started.

What Is the Neighborhood Plant Market?

The Neighborhood Plant Market is more than just a place to buy plants. Our goal is to create real job opportunities for neighbors who need a little help making ends meet, people who are working hard to get back on their feet. Right now we're running entirely on volunteer labor and donated plant materials, and honestly, the community response has blown us away.

Our First Sale Was a Success, So We're Doing More

We weren't sure how it would go at first. We set a modest goal: two plant sales a year. That felt manageable. But our first sale went better than we expected, and we bounced back on inventory way faster than we thought we would. It felt wrong to just sit on all these beautiful plants without giving anyone a chance to take them home.

So we made a decision. We're going monthly.

Mark Your Calendar 🗓️

Starting June 11th, the Neighborhood Plant Market will be open on the second Thursday of every month from 9AM to 12PM.

We'll have everything you need: a full cash register setup, credit card processing, and a whole pavilion packed with plants. If you've got that itch to get outside and plant something, come on by.

And if you were asking about shampoo ginger at our last sale, we heard you! We've got a ton of it ready and waiting. 🌺

How You Can Support Us

None of this happens without this community. Here's how you can get involved:

Thank you to every volunteer and donor who has shown up for us. Every plant that gets propagated, every hour of time shared, every dollar donated, it all adds up to something really special here in Ocala.

We'll see you June 11th! 🌿
